Name: County Rosenberg, central Tashrak (Midian)
Type: County
Ruler: Count Toram (uncertain)
Manor: Manse Rosenberg (outside capital city of Rosenberg)
Garrison: 7 (infantry battalion)
Population: Medium (neutral)
Resources: Fruitful (lumber, agriculture)
Affluence: Well-off
Political Ties: House Li-Halan (strong), Church (Good), Justinian (Rival)
Landscape: The County has as its northern border the river Zao Chen and touches on the foothills of the Quan Mts. To the south it touches on the Justinian held fiefs of Voro and Redwood. The county in the north is typified by gently rolling plains dotted with farms and woods, while the south is heavily forested. A skyport (besides the river) is the primary means of travel and commerce in and out of the fief.
History: The establishment of this fief is lost in history, probably the result of the chaotic period known as the Fall. However, County Rosenberg has always been a firm supporter of House Li Halan and all of its princes, despite their notoriety over the ages.
In more recent times, County Rosenberg was called upon many times to supply troops to the Li Halan cause during the Emperor Wars. The experience of battle has tempered this county's troops into an efficient fighting force, which for now stands at a slightly reinforced infantry battalion. However, the manpower the Count can provide is much higher thanks to the stable population and the bellicose loyalty of the county's knights.
More recently the county suffered a terrible tragedy when its count Yabu was assassinated by heretics fearing that he would uncover their unnatural religion as he investigated Annunaki ruins beneath his manor and the capital of Rosenberg. Currently the young Count Toram, son of Yabu, holds the title but his rule so far is uncertain. Not all of his father's former vassals have presented themselves to honor him with oaths of fealty, nor have they done homage for their lands. Furthermore, the March of Voro and County Redwood, both Justinian fiefs, have taken the instability of Count Toram's rule to put forth their claims on the county's southern fiefs, areas that the Justinian's would benefit from immensely. As the Justinian fiefs are held directly from the Emperor, they have appealed to Prince Flavius to put pressure on Duke Augustus Zhu Li Halan, lord of Midian. Although military action is not likely, many suspect that it may be possible that malcontent lords in the south may break away and swear fealty to the Justinians, a situation they would far from discourage.
